CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Cincinnati Public Schools called the death of 8-year-old Gabe Taye an accident because medical experts believed he could not have understood what he was doing.
But the Hamilton County Coroner called the boy's death suicide.
What drove the boy to end his life?

Gabe was the artistic kid who liked going to Carson Elementary. But what could drive an 8-year-old to feel he didn't want to live another day? Local 12 News learned more about what happened to Gabe in the days before his death. Tuesday, the school said he passed out in the hallway. The family attorney said he didn't pass out, he was knocked down. He was knocked down, then students sat on him according to the family attorney.
Jennifer Branch said Gabe's mother was just learning about the level of violence and trauma he was exposed to at school. The next day, his mother took him to the hospital because he was throwing up. He killed himself the next day after school.
Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Sammarco wondered if the stomach ache was a cry for help, "I'm wondering if some of these physical complaints were related to psychological trauma; didn't know how to explain it where he felt safe."
In the last decade, 73 teens or children 18 and under committed suicide in Hamilton County. That included an 11-year-old, 12-year-old, and now 8-year-old Gabriel.
